the town I lived in till I was 8

My Mother and I walked here almost every day to check the mail. The post mistress always had a Hershey bite for me. I loved being alive then. when my parents weren't scraping it up about something, life was good. I skied in the winter and rode horses in the summer. can't beat that.

Reminds me of a trip to Wyoming when I was four.

Good times though that trip was my grandparents' attempt to cheer up their daughter after her husband left.

Yes...I like the little baby elk, and the image of little Ms. B walking there and eatin' chocolate.

Looks like a place in Cooks Forest, Pa. Where is that?

BTW, my best friend lives in Coolidge, my son just moved from Mesa and my ex just moved from the Sonora Desert., yet I've never been in Az. My friend wants me to move there. I can do the stay in the house during the day and raise hell at night. I think I'd be good at that.

Oh, the Aunt B comment was me, forgot I was logged in. Senility is kicking my ass, hahaha!!

Took me back to my childhood when we used to head out to Banf at the weekends camping, yea life was good. The the folks packed us all up and shipped us back to the slums of Glasgow......go figure that one...

It's so 50s.
My heart aches for all the childhoods the new generations won't have. The quality of innocence, of unsophisticated pleasures, of play without props and with little fear of anything besides abee sting or a broken arm---that seems gone.
This reminds me so of family vacations we took in the early 60s.
